The A225 British Standard centre drill is manufactured to British Standard 328.
It should be used to start a precise hole in the end of a shaft so the shaft can be securely held prior to machining. The A225 has a bright finish to prevent workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edge. It comes with 120-degree point angle and a 60-degree countersink which machines a cone in the workpiece to be used to hold that end of the workpiece shaft securely. The premium High-Speed steel means the A225 can be used to drill many materials including stainless steel, aluminium and steels.
As it can be used in both conventional and CNC machines and is double ended, the A225 is a very versatile and cost-effective product.
