The E524 hand tap is used to create Unified Fine threads. They are manufactured conforming to the International Standards Organization and are made from High-Speed steel to give good performance and tool life. The bright finish stops workpiece material from sticking to the cutting edge, so giving a more accurate, cleaner thread. The straight flute design means the E524 taps can be used to thread both through and blind holes. Suitable for a wide range of materials, including steels, stainless steel and aluminium, the E524 taps are available in three different chamfers of a taper (No 1), a second or plug (No 2) and a bottom tap (No 3), which can be used in sequence to create a more accurate thread.
